Swim Bay is a beautiful summer destination located in the heart of Peachland, BC. Sitting along the gorgeous waterfront promenade that spans the length of the town, Swim Bay offers relaxation and fun for people of all ages. On those frequent hot, Okanagan summer days, the bay will be busy with swimmers, beachgoers, and families.

So, what makes Swim Bay so special? Many things. The long running zipline connecting the wharfs, the rope swing, and the floating docks draw people in from all over. Let the kids run wild, swimming and playing the day away. You’ll also see people facing their fears on the infamous high dive. Walk up a set of stairs and onto the bouncy diving board that launches you high in the air before entering the water. If the 3 meter board isn’t for you, there is also a lower board to jump from.

There is a lifeguard on duty at certain hours of the day. Although subject to change, the typical lifeguard hours are from 12:30pm – 5:45pm starting late June and ending late August. When there is no lifeguard on duty, take extra caution while enjoying the facilities. For those who are not confident in their swimming abilities, life jackets are available to borrow during lifeguard operational hours. There is an aquatic wheelchair ramp located at the north end of the beach, and aquatic wheelchairs are available to borrow from the lifeguards.

The beach itself is small, but it is backed by a grassy area and accompanied by shade trees. The beach is composed of small pebbles as opposed to sand, some people find it helpful to bring water shoes. Although many people opt for jumping off the wharf, there is plenty of room to wade in the shallow water. There are washrooms and a concession stand that offer various snacks & drinks. The concession stand operates from June to September. Being the most popular beach in Peachland, it can get very busy here. The lack of beach real estate may make it difficult to find a good spot, so we’d recommend arriving early. Parking is available in the lot across the street, as well as parallel parking on Beach Ave. Dogs are prohibited at Swim Bay.

The waterfront walking & biking path is along it and often filled with people enjoying a stroll. This waterfront promenade stretches kilometers and has many beaches, viewpoints, and benches along the way. Taking you through the town, you’ll also find a wide selection of restaurants, cafes, and shops to enjoy!

So next time you’re planning a day in the Okanagan, make sure to check out Swim Bay – one of the most sought-after beaches in the Valley, and for good reason!
