About the Winery
Indigenous World Winery brings together modern culture and the history of the Indigenous people in a stunning West Kelowna gathering place. The Okanagan Syilx community, the original inhabitants of the Okanagan and Similkameen Valleys have been living on and protecting these lands for thousands of years. Robert Louie and his wife Bernice, descendants of the Syilx people and owners of the winery, have a strong connection to the land and its rich history. The idea of Indigenous World Winery came as a means to blend the distinct characteristics of the Okanagan’s terroir with the longstanding care of the Indigenous community over these lands. Every effort is made to produce world-class wines while maintaining the highest respect for the environment and its people. What makes this region so unique is how this land was formed over time, shaped by glacial ice, volcanic eruptions, and other geologic events.
Wine
With every sip of an Indigenous World wine, you experience the flavours of fruits nurtured by the land that has been a steadfast provider for the Syilx people for over 10,000 years. The grapes are carefully selected from a variety of vineyards throughout the Okanagan and Similkameen Valley, along with a 2.5-acre vineyard located on the property just below the wine shop. Many of the wines here are recipients of various awards over the years, with varieties such as Riesling, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, and Shiraz as specialties. Indigenous World also produces gin, vodka, and whisky – perfect for those searching for something other than vino! Tastings are available daily in the beautifully decorated wine shop from 11 am – 6 pm.

Indigenous World Winery takes pride in offering a flexible and enjoyable wine club; best of all, it’s free to join. As a Sneena Cellars Wine Club member, you can customize your selection by choosing any 6 or more bottles from the twice-a-year program. The team firmly believes that every person is unique, with their own distinct preferences when it comes to wine, which is why their mission is to send you precisely what you desire to ensure a personalized and satisfying experience with every shipment.
