About Rotary Beach
Rotary Beach in Oliver is a popular summer destination for locals and tourists alike. Located at the southern shores of Tuc-El-Nuit Lake, the beach offers a variety of recreational activities and a beautiful natural setting. The sandy beach and wide selection of amenities make it one of the best places to be on a hot summer day in the South Okanagan. From downtown, the beach is less than a five minute drive away, making it easy to access.
One of the main attractions here is the clean, sandy shoreline and incredible views of the surrounding lake. As just one of over 50 lakes in the Okanagan Valley, this is commonly known as one of the most scenic lakes due to its endless views of the rolling mountains and vineyards. The beach is popular for swimming, sunbathing, and picnicking – you’ll often see families setting up with tents, coolers, and beach chairs to enjoy a long, hot sunny day here. The gentle slope of the beach and the calm waters of the lake make it a great place for children to play in the water without being out of sight.
Amenities
Rotary Park is equipped with all the amenities needed for a great day at the beach. Public washrooms are located just steps from the beach, there is a large grassy area for picnics and games, and the nearby playground is ideal for young kids to burn their energy off. The parking here is free, but tends to fill up fast on summer days, so we recommend arriving early to ensure you get a spot.
Dogs are only permitted at Rotary Beach after September 30th.
Activities
In addition to swimming, Rotary Beach is also a popular spot for water sports such as kayaking, stand-up paddling, and canoeing. Like many other Okanagan lakes, the pristine water and sandy bottom is ideal for swimming, floating, and soaking up the sun. It is important to note that motorized watercraft is prohibited on Tuc-El-Nuit Lake. This is due to its small size and need to protect the many forms of wildlife that inhabit this beautiful area.
Prime Location
The beach is adjacent to the Okanagan River Trail, which offers a scenic walk or bike ride along the river, and is conveniently located to be a perfect jump in spot when you need to cool off. Rotary Beach is a fantastic destination for those looking to enjoy the Okanagan beach culture and experience the beauty of the Tuc-El-Nuit Lake. Whether you’re looking to swim, play in the sand, or simply relax and take in the scenery, Rotary Beach is the place to be.
