Though typically less populated, this beach doesn’t lack amenities. Crystal-clear water, soft sand, and stunning views of Okanagan Lake are just a few of the features here. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick dip in the lake or planning to spend the whole afternoon in the sun, Powell Beach has everything you need to enjoy yourself.
Amenities
Powell Beach has a wide range of amenities to make any day here enjoyable. The beach is equipped with picnic tables, benches, showers, and washrooms, all of which are consistently well-maintained. The kids will have a blast on the beach swings, playground, and the small waterslide into the lake. The long-spanning sandy beach meets the shallow water, which is perfect for swimming in, and the large shade trees provide ample amounts of space to cool off on those scorching summer days. Also located just steps from the water are tennis courts and a baseball diamond, perfect for a friendly game of pickup before cooling down in the lake!
Location
Powell Beach is located less than 10 minutes south of downtown Summerland, right beside Trout Creek. The newly developed parking lot is right beside the beach, making it easy to bring your beach gear without the hassle of a long walk. There are ample parking stalls available, however, we recommend arriving early in the summer as the lot can sometimes fill up quickly.
