No matter your age, you’ll find plenty of activities to pique your interest and stimulate your imagination.

Exhibits

Visiting the Okanagan Science Centre means experiencing a wide range of exciting and educational exhibits, covering many different scientific topics. As a constantly evolving space, the exhibits do vary from time to time, giving you the opportunity always to learn something new!

Get up close and personal with animals in the Animal Area that feature a saltwater tank, reptiles, and freshwater axolotls. Kids will have a blast exploring the Discovery Zone, complete with a toddler play area and a fascinating insect exhibit. For Lego lovers, the Lego Exhibit lets you unleash your creativity and build your own race car, and the Light exhibit invites you to experiment with shadow and light, polarization, and a giant Lite-Brite. Explore the fascinating world of sound waves and light in the Sound Exhibit, or blast off to space in the Space Exhibit, where you can experience a space ball wall, Gyro Chair, and even a planetarium (when shows are available). The Energy Exhibit is electrifying with its Tesla coil, solar energy, and muscle energy activity, and if you’re into palaeontology, don’t miss the chance to meet Vern, an Ankylosaurus.

Get lost in the wonders of the universe with the immersive Planetarium show, where you’ll explore all aspects of space in a 30-minute show. At Meet & Geek, you can mingle with other science enthusiasts and learn about various topics that are relevant to the Okanagan. For the little ones, the Little Scientists program offers age-appropriate activities and experiments to spark their curiosity about science – a perfect way to keep them busy on a rainy day!
