About the Course

Black Mountain is an 18 hole, par 71 championship course that sits in the rolling hills of Kelowna at the base of Black Mountain. This impressively designed high-end golf course is the product of multiple generations of planning and execution. Known as one the more premier courses in Kelowna, Black Mountain is sure to challenge anyone’s game.

Designed by architect Wayne Carlton, this course was first opened to the public in 2003. Wayne spent many days and countless hours walking and assessing the property, ensuring he identified the perfect locations for each hole. During the design and development phase, Wayne had a vision to maintain the natural character of the land. The goal was to affect the landscape as little as possible – trees, rocks, canyons, and the natural slopes of the area were key in designing a unique course.

Any level of golfer is welcome here – each hole features four tee boxes that cater to all skill levels. The meticulously designed course allows for golfers to enjoy breathtaking views at every hole, each providing a unique viewpoint of the Okanagan Valley. The 6,400 yard course contains a lot of elevation change, making it a good idea to use a cart. Built into the dramatic cliffside of the rolling mountains, it’s an experience you don’t get anywhere else.

It’s been known that the idyllic views and incredible landscape can have an effect on people’s game. The staff insist this is not the case, however it’s difficult to keep it together when you’re treated with some of the nicest views you’ve ever seen. Black Mountain is home to the only island green in the Okanagan, making it a bucket-list course for avid golfers. This signature hole, along with the 17 others are well manicured, maintained, and will be sure to test your game.
