About the Winery

Leaning on many years of fruit farming dating back to 1966, the family tradition evolved into focusing on growing premium grapes in 2009. Adega Estate Winery sits in the rolling hills of Osoyoos, boasting an incredible view of the South Okanagan. Proudly producing a variety of reds and whites that reflect the terroir they come from, this family run winery provides a wonderful tasting experience. The Hacienda style tasting room welcomes people from all over to learn about the combination of old world charm and new world technology to create these amazing wines.

Wine

There’s no shortage of delicious wine to choose from here at Adega. Each bottle of red wine undergoes a complex process to ensure the highest quality and taste. All grapes used in the production of the red wines are grown on the estate and are processed in a similar manner. They begin by being cold soaked for 24-36 hours, then fermented with their skins. The grapes are left in contact with the skins for a minimum of 10 to 18 days. Once the alcoholic fermentation is complete, the grapes are pressed and undergo 100% malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels for at least 12 months before being bottled and served.

Tastings

Unlike many other wineries in the region, Adega on 45th offers year round wine tastings. In the summer, the tasting room is open from 10am – 5pm seven days a week. In the winter (January & February), you can enjoy their tasting from 11am to 5pm Friday-Monday.

The friendly and knowledgeable staff will guide you through the tasting and educate you on the flavours, production process, and uniqueness of each wine. After your tasting, be sure to grab some deli snacks for a picnic on the scenic patio overlooking the valley. Immerse yourself in Adega’s rich wine culture and take advantage of everything this place has to offer.
